We all know how sexy the androgynous Andrej Pejic is, and FHM named him number 98 on their top 100 list of sexiest women in the world.
They have since removed him from the list, as Pejic isn’t a woman (just a very attractive boy who we want to steal beauty secrets from). The post from FHM’s website which was taken down:
Although his sexual identity is ambiguous, designers are hailing him as the next big thing. We think ‘thing’ is quite accurate. Tall, skinny, and flat-chested, Andrej is considered in couture circles as the “perfect coat-hanger” for high fashion garments, moving the industry on from hot girls who look dangerously boyish to just boys who look like girls. Having managed to get away with it in campaigns for Marc Jacobs and Jean Paul Gaultier, the blonde gender-bender has jumped the gun in hoping he might one day be signed as a Victoria’s Secret Model (Pass the sick bucket). Well, he might have a hard time keeping it a secret then.
If you’ve been reading FASHIONOTES for a while now, you’ll know how much we adore Pejic and are disgusted with the fact that this FHM writer thinks that Pejic ever tried to keep his gender identity a secret. Thankfully, he has been brought to justice.
Andrej Pejic appears at number 98 in FHM’s 100 Sexiest Women in the World 2011.
Regrettably the copy accompanying Andrej’s online entry wasn’t subbed prior to going live. Once we realized, we removed it immediately and apologized for any offense caused.
FHM has spoken to the individual concerned and taken steps to ensure this can never happen again.
