Nasty Gal is [finally] increasing its offerings with the launch of its first in-house designed collection, starting with a new denim collection! In its sixth year of production, the popular e-commerce site has grown to become an international style source, housing some of the best new and vintage clothing, shoes, and accessories from high-end brands such as Jeffrey Campbell, UNIF, and MinkPink.
Launching throughout the month of August, the label dropped today with the unveiling of its first denim collection. Already a standout style, “The Kink,” an $88 high-waisted skinny jean, is the first item to be revealed from the label. In the next coming weeks, expect to see Nasty Gal’s full 32-piece collection roll out online.
“We’re evolving quickly from providing a highly curated shopping experience and assortment of hand-picked brands and items to designing and developing our own exclusive branded products,” Sophia Amoruso, Nasty Gal’s founder and chief executive officer, told WWD. “We’ve been a retailer up to this point,” she continued. “Our customer is so loyal, and our natural next step is to curate from perception to production for her.”
Following the much anticipated label launch, Nasty Gal has also announced that they will release a bi-annual print magazine, appropriately titled Super Nasty. Check out the in-house collection’s video debut, featuring Sophia and the team putting Kink jeans to the test with a studio dance party:
