Poshmark is the mobile app for buying and selling fashion. It allows shoppers to upload photos of clothing from their closets, browse different wardrobes and discover others with similar style and taste. This innovative e-commerce start-up recently celebrated its first birthday and received a gift in the form of $12 million towards new funding. The latest investment will allow Poshmark to expand its reach onto the Android and all iOS platforms, as well as expanding their website offerings.
The company’s signature “Posh Parties” have created a mix of both online and offline experiences. Within the app, the virtual shopping events revolve around designers, brands and trends. Occurring three times daily, inventory is constantly being added and admired in real-time. After the mobile marketplace’s launch, the Poshmark team took the Party on the road and sponsored real life shopping events around the country. By moving the experience into the material world, the team has grown their user base of fashion enthusiasts. Learning more about their audience while strengthening the sense of community is at the Poshmark experience forefront.
The social aspect of Poshmark combined with the ease of transactions makes the shopping experience delightful. The highly-engaged user community has proven to be the runaway success behind the fashion startup and will no doubt continue to grow.
