Big things are happening for wearable tech! From conferencess and runway shows to thinking ahead to 2050, the future is now (and we have the deets!).
In 2050 we’ll be wearing…
Billie Whitehouse is the brains behind Wearable Experiments, a company that brings some of the craziest (but coolest) wearable fashion ideas to life. Think the Alert Shirt, the fan jersey that would allow people to feel what their fav sports star is feeling during the big game. Billie recently gave an interview to Refinery29 and predicted what wearable fashion will look like in the year 2050. [Refinery29]
Come one, come all
Interlaced held their first event today in London, England. The organization is all about wearable tech; increasing innovation and demand, while bridging the gap between the fashion industry and consumers. The day consisted of discussions on topics such as sustainability through wearable tech, retail for wearables and 3D printing, and ended with a wearable tech fashion show. Keynote speakers included Francesca Rosella and Ryan Genz of Cute Circuit. [Interlaced]
Fashtech meets migraine medicine
A new wearable transdermal patch for migraine-sufferers, called Zecuity, is now FDA approved. The patch really exemplifies how wearable tech research is being put to good use. The battery-powered patch wraps around the user’s arm or leg to deliver sumatriptan. Here’s hoping we are one step closer to the migraine solution. [Marie Claire]
