The upcoming 2017 H&M New Conscious Exclusive collection promises romantic optimism, ethereal beauty, and nods to the world’s ocean shores.
At least a portion of the collection will use sustainable material Bionic Yarn - a recycled polyester made from plastic shoreline waste. As seen above, the campaign’s hero piece, a standout, powder pink, pleated gown shows Bionic Yarn’s sheer fluidity, diversity, and usability as modelled by supermodel and philanthropist Natalia Vodianova, this year’s face of the Conscious Exclusive campaign.
A full offering of womenswear, relaxed formal wear for men, and for the first time, children’s pieces make up this 2017 Conscious Exclusive offering. A fragrance made from organic oils will also be released.
“For the design team at H&M, this year’s Conscious Exclusive is a chance to dream and create pieces that are both quirky and beautiful. It’s great to be able to show just what is possible with sustainable materials like we have done with the delicate plissé dress made of BIONIC®,” says Pernilla Wohlfahrt, H&M’s Head of Design and Creative Director.
Conscious Exclusive is a driver in H&M’s efforts towards a more sustainable fashion future. As one of the world’s biggest buyers of organic cotton, H&M seeks to be 100& sustainably sourced when it comes to cotton by 2020.
The 2017 Conscious Exclusive collection will be released in 160 stores worldwide on April 20th, 2017.
