Poised to become the biggest clothing retailer in the U.S. in 2017, Amazon charges ahead to further define their fashion offering. They are now offering a “virtual stylist” via their new “Outfit Compare” feature to Prime users. The new feature rolled out on March 9, 2017 and is already gaining popularity.
Unlike many other Amazon fashion ventures, the “Outfit Compare” app (for iOS devices only, Android versions are currently in the works) was not promoted on the Amazon site. Those lucky Prime iOS users who happened to discover the feature gained an exclusive chance to try out the new app first hand. Prime members can find “Outfit Compare” in the sidebar navigation under the “Programs and Features” section.
First, it prompts you to upload two photos wearing two different outfits that you’re deciding between. You will get a response from an Amazon stylist who will tell you which outfit looks better. The decision as to which outfit suits you will be made based on a number of factors including fit, what colors look best on you, style, and if it’s on trend.
When you receive your results, it is rated on a “style scale”. The options include “Definitely pick this one,” “We like this better,” and “It was a close call.” From there, you can decide which option works for you.
Want to test out the app? It’s a fun and personalized way to get the most out of your #OOTD with the help of a team of fashion experts working to create the best look for your day. Explore the feature and let us know how Amazon’s virtual stylists did!
