By far one of this year’s most exciting fashion collabs is that of Sza and Champion.
The news comes amidst a time when it’s become no secret that fashion is one of the most polluting and wasteful industries, second to oil. Conscious consumers and organizations are holding fashion’s feet to the fire and demanding transparency in the name of sustainability and ethical production. Hashtags in July like #plasticfreejuly and #zerowaste have highlighted just how much popularity this movement is gaining.
The recent news of Sza’s newest plastic-free venture between her brand, Control Fishing Co. and Champion is beyond timely. Known for her more chill and sporty aesthetic, the capsule collection reflects a relaxed attitude. Champion has most recently regained fame amongst the millennials and Gen Z, revamping classic styles.
The collection features hoodies and crewnecks in hues that include white, blue and purple with slogans like ‘Sustainability Gang’ and ‘Puck Flastic’. While not much is yet known, Sza teased the new collab days ago via her Instagram.
SZA also announced that all profits from this collaboration will go to environmental organizations helping to save the world’s oceans from plastic. It’s a win-win!
We can’t wait to hear more about the release in the coming days. Stay connected with us and Sza via Instagram for updates!
