Lifestyle brand, Mango just launched its latest jewelry collection via 3D printing and it’s sustainable!
Mango has just launched a sustainable capsule collection of jewelry using 3D printing. The zero-waste collection consists of 10 pieces, which include earrings, a bracelet, and a ring. All jewelry is made from 90% sustainable materials, including biodegradable plastic and plant-based materials.
To make this collection a reality, Mango collab-ed with the Spanish company, Comme Des Machines, which specializes in the production of fashion through 3D printing. With help from the Mango creative team, the jewelry was designed and the pieces are modeled in 3D format and them beautifully polished by ceramics. The end result, modern, colorful everyday pieces that are crafted to perfection and sustainable. We absolutely love the geometric shapes found in each piece.
Mango has been on the road to sustainability with the launch of the first 45 piece sustainable collection in 2017; known as the Committed collection which was launched under the Take Action Project. The long-term plan incorporates more sustainable business practices such as respecting animal rights when it comes to the use of leather and fur, participation in the Greenpeace Detox Project, and an in-store recycling program in partnership with Koopera.
“With our proposal, this is the first time that this 3D printing technique is used to produce a sustainable collection at this scale,” said Mango brand. The collection can be purchased online and in 30 selected physical stores in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Portugal.
