Whether you met him by swiping right or through a friend, meeting someone for a first date is always nerve-wracking. My usual date preparation includes going through my entire closet, emptying all of my drawers, piling everything up on the bed and having a melt down, basically. Soon after, I scream for my roommates help and finally I get it together. However, this is a lengthy and exhausting process. Keep reading to find out some ideas on what to wear for your first date!
Since I don’t want anyone to have to go through that, I’ve created five looks to consider for five different dates! (Thank me later ladies).
Dinner Date
or
Choosing an outfit for dinner can sometimes be tricky but one thing for sure is that guys love dresses. However, too much flash can sometimes spells high maintenance. You also don’t want to get too comfortable; leave the maxi for coffee with the girls and try a cute ensemble similar to the pictures above!
Brunch Date
Going for brunch is one of my favourite things to do for a date. Keep things simple with a mid high heel, not too flat to keep it flirty, but definitely not too high. Also, make sure you’re using a mid sized purse. If you have a tiny purse you wont be able to find anything and if its too big then you might just look like a hobo or high maintenance.
Coffee Date
Keep things casual for a coffee date. You don’t want to seem like you’re trying too hard but you also want him to think you cared enough to at least try. Think “girl next door” sexy in casual clothes but feminine cuts and colours.
Take a walk on the Beach
or
A walk on the beach may sound cliche but your outfit needn’t be boring! Accessorizing is the key here. Anyone could throw on a bathing suit or a sun dress, so adding cute accessories takes your outfit to the next level.
Wine Tasting
Wine tasting is one of the most romantic of first dates. (Just remember not to over do it - it’s tasting not gulping!) A cross body bag is essential because your hands will be busy holding wine glasses and perhaps holding someone else’s hand.
So, middle of the road is the safe way to go. Not too long, short, big or flashy. Unless of course that is truly you, in which case you do you and boys be damned.
So now that you have the perfect outfits its time for your perfect greeting:

Just kidding. Have a great first date!
