1. Google Currents
Released July 2 in France, Google Currents is the latest trending mobile application where you can group all the news feeds from your favorite sites into one simple application, and read them in a magazine format on your smartphone or tablet. Always ahead of its time, Vogue.fr has expanded its presence on smartphones and tablets by launching an edition for Google Currents giving readers a new way to get their Vogue fix electronically.
2. The Coveteur
The Coveteur is THE reference site that allows us to dive into the personal lives of Aurélie Bidermann, Anna Dello Russo, Charlotte Ronson and other fashion insiders. This week, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, the creative directors of Proenza Schouler invite us into the archives of their couture house, with each photograph captioned by one of the two designers.
3. Meet and Greet Your Favorite Designers
From July 2 to July 4, editor-in-chief of Vogue.fr Jennifer Neyt and cameraman Chris Roman interviewed the designers, make-up artists and VIPs from the first rows of haute couture Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2012-2013. Go backstage at the Chanel show, meet designer Alexis Mabille and make an appointment at the Givenchy showroom, with an intensive three-day summary of fashion week seen through the eyes of Vogue.fr.
In March, Louis Vuitton brought ready-to-wear Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2012-2013 to a beautiful close with a spectacular show at the Carrousel du Louvre, which saw models descend one by one from the Louis Vuitton Express, a real locomotive emitting plumes of smoke. Now, the train is up and running once again, and Louis Vuitton has invited photographer Todd Selby aboard to cross Europe and Asia from Paris to Shanghai. On the label’s minisite, the American photographer and filmmaker will keep track of his journey in a travel log, noting down experiences as well as the encounters he has along the way, posted every day from July 6.
5. Dior Addict
For its latest campaign, Dior Addict, Christian Dior called upon the Swedish filmmaker, Jonas Akerlund and model, Daphne Groeneveld. The campaign, inspired by Brigitte Bardot and her role in the Roger Vadim film, Et Dieu créa la femme, is shown on the couture house’s website. 6. Harry Winston x Pinterest
The virtual corkboard Pinterest, is the latest online community, and now jeweler, Harry Winston has opened its own account to pin inspirations to its boards. From photos of their most recent fine jewelry collection, soon to be presented at the Biennale de Venise, to celebrities wearing pieces on the red carpet, follow the interactive moodboards, like and repin - reposting onto your own boards - the entire world of Harry Winston.
7. Backstage at the Chanel Show
As haute couture Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2012-2013 came to a close last week, Chanel invited its internet followers behind the scenes of its haute couture ateliers during the fashion show prep. With sketches, appliqué on toile and hand embroidery, all the stages of garment creation are unveiled in this video, presented on the Chanel News site of the couture house on rue Cambon.
8. Giorgio Armani‘s New Website
Giorgio Armani has launched the updated version of his website, dedicated to beauty. The new interactive digital platform promotes products, new publicity campaigns and interviews with fragrance noses and make-up artists.
9. Charlotte Tillburry
Discover the world of make-up artist Charlotte Tillbury through her Pinterest, Behind the scenes, which as the name indicates, reveals a behind the scenes look backstage at fashion shows and photo shoots, with the biggest models and photographers in the industry.
10. Missoni
Known for its printed and crocheted pieces, Missoni has created its own Facebook timeline, giving us a sneak peek at its new collections, publicity campaigns and special offers.
