Jean Paul Gaultier for ASVOFF8

A Shaded View On Fashion Film - the international fashion film festival founded by journalist and icon Diane Pernet kicks off its eighth season by inviting to preside over the jury of the competition one of the most iconic French couturiers of fashion history: Jean Paul Gaultier. A carte blanche session will be dedicated to him, hosted by journalist and fashion critic Elisabeth Quin.

ASVOFF8 will showcase 80 short films in its competition, comprising of the best of the year’s production. Films include entries by directors in conjunctions with such brands as Marc Jacobs, Selfridges, Philip Lim, and Dries van Noten.

In addition to the competition, the event will also offer thematic sessions with prestigious guests such as Iris van Herpen, Nicolas Godin, Nicolas Saada and Mathias Kiss. In particular, the renowned British fashion writer, Colin McDowell, will be hosting an event showcasing the saga of Woolmark, the famed wool company.

ASVOFF8 runs at Centre Pompidou in Paris this weekend, from December 2nd to 6th.
