Social media’s top and most sought after millennial’s were dressed to the nines for the highly anticipated D&G’s Fall/Winter ’17 collection show.
Milan Fashion Week is currently in full swing and D&G has unveiled one of the most youth-driven collections of the season, and including in the show, A-listers, internet personalities and social media’s coolest millennial’s. With exclusive #BTS leaks of some our favorite It Boys aka #DGPrinces via Instagram, the anticipation was enormous for this show. While you may think you know what to expect when it comes to D&G collections, this season, the men’s line received a fresh upgrade.
Mixing classics with newer silhouettes, there was a subtly cool edge to the show. Embroidered suiting, streetwear, and outerwear dominated the runway but remixed with regal and kingly motifs. The show’s beauty was created by Pat McGrath, editorial beauty guru and social media beauty maven sensation. Subdued and clean - the look was quintessential D&G.
The It crew and some of this year’s millennial rising stars dominated this year’s runway show including rapper Tinie Tempah, Chase Hill, Diggy Simmons, actor Will Peltz, Vine star Neels Visser, street style photographer Lee Oliveira, blogger Marcel Floruss, digital influencer Pelayo Díaz, London socialite Carlo Sestini, Brit vlogger Jim Chapman, Chinese model Chen Xuedong, Ahmad Daabas of Dubai’s AMDmode.com, actor Avan Jogia, and YouTube favorites Juanpa Zurita, Marcus Butler and Sergio Carvajal.
Opening the show was Internet powerhouse Cameron Dallas, who holds an army of 17.4+ million followers on Instagram, 5.2+ million on YouTube, and his own Netflix show titled Chasing Cameron. Following Dallas, Presley Gerber (Cindy Crawford’s son), Rafferty Law (Jude Law’s son), Brandon Thomas Lee (Pamela Anderson’s son), Levi Dylan (Bob Dylan’s grandson), with Dolce & Gabbana It Boys Luka Sabbat and Lucky Blue Smith. In the female lineup was Sofia Richie, along with Sistine and Sophia Stallone (Sylvester Stallone’s teenage daughters), Pyper America, Starlie Cheyenne, Daisy Clementine, Immy Waterhouse, Sonia Ben Ammar, Lori Harvey (Steve Harvey’s step-daughter), Stefanie Giesinger, German fashion blogger Caroline Daur, La Rouge Belle founder and creative director Lala Rudge, and model Yumi Dondo.
This stellar runway show not only proved to position D&G’s with the millennial set, but also solidified their relationship with youth culture across music and high-fashion. Austin Mahone created an uber cool, street vibe for the show, showcasing his R&B–esque crooning on the runway. While Tinie Tempah added major swag to the show with his unapologetic style . Instagram played a huge role as well with posts promoting the show beforehand using curated hashtags: #DGPrinces, #DGfw18, #realpeople, #DGMillennials garnering well over 1.75k+ Likes.
