Rebecca Minkoff showed off some fresh, new looks along aside her latest fashion tech accessories in her recent see-now-buy-now Spring/Summer 2017 show and pop-up shop which took place in Los Angeles at The Grove.
What a way to kick off the NYFW fashion season! The SS17 runway show was held in collaboration with luxury retailer Nordstrom and nail lacquer brand, Essie. Teasers for the heavily promoted show were leaked via social media, and generated not only excitement but also a buzz for the next venture of smart tech wearables for Rebecca Minkoff!
For this season’s presentation, Rebecca Minkoff took inspiration from seventies boho giving it some extra California love featuring ethnic-inspired prints, on-trend off the shoulder dresses in denim, and lots of ditsy florals in breezy silhouettes. No stranger to fashion or tech, this season Rebecca Minkoff successfully integrated social media, influencers and millennials into the fold.
By enlisting some of Instagram’s top fashion talents and one of the only brands out there doing great looking and fashionable smart tech wearables, Minkoff is quickly becoming a leader in the fashion and technology space.
Sought-after models, top fashion bloggers, music girl group Milckmusic, Coco Rocha, Chrisselle Lim, Victoria Justice, Aimee Song, Natalie of Natalie Off duty to walk in the show; and curating the most coveted front row squad included YouTube stars and fashion lovers like Meredith Foster, Teala Dunn aka TTYLTEALA, Keke Palmer , Lauren Conrad, Angela Sarafyan, Camila Alves and actress Jaime Chung just to name a few.
To further solidify her commitment to the integration of smart tech, Rebecca has joined forces with Quotidian Ventures, a venture capital firm based in New York in hopes of expanding on her tech ventures. Her interests include smart dressing rooms with advanced mirrors from which consumers can request products and save items to their phones to later purchase online.
No doubt this show had a strong digital presence, from #BTS teasers and the runway day documented under #rmgoesgrove. Most buzzed about was the studded top-handle bags, dubbed the #ALWAYSON Midnighter style, which was equipped with smart tech and were available for purchase even before the show began. When scanned, the handbags unlocked a ticket to Minkoff’s Spring/Summer 2017 show, as well as, other exclusive offers and experiences with the brand.
