Would you like to have more control over the design process of the clothes, accessories, and home goods you buy? Now you can! Cut On Your Bias is a crowd-sourced social commerce platform for clothing and home goods that allows consumers to interact with designers on pre-production decisions. You and your friends have the opportunity to collaborate with designers to create a unique, capsule release collection.
The concept is simple. Choose your piece, customize it to make it look the way you desire, then submit and vote. At the end of each week, the designer collection is available exclusively online for purchase.
Founder and CEO of the site is fashion designer Louis Monoyudis. Prior to launching Cut On Your Bias, Louis spent a decade as a designer for Calvin Klein, John Varvatos and Tommy Hilfiger. His vision revolved around offering consumers a bigger role in the design process of their ideal fashion creations. Once you sign up for the site, you can then browse through the week’s designs that are up for vote. Some designers allow you to vote among a range of colors, while others let you go as far as choosing size, silhouette, material and color. Graf & Lantz is a great example of showing the many handbag options:
