As if offering luxury basics at a fraction of the price AND being honest about all the production cost wasn’t enough, Everlane answers one of our most burning questions: Who made my clothes?
Everlane is a leader in the sustainable and ethical movement taking shape in the fashion industry. It doesn’t only sell the coolest basics you’ve ever seen, but educates its customers of the factories it uses and the cost breakdown at every step of the process right up to the markups. We’ve been obsessed with this startup and its radical transparency approach since 2011. But a lot has changed in just five years.
Everlane managed to expand its collections (it now has a kids lined called Mini and a one-hour delivery service for NYC and SF!) and grow its online community with over 200k Instagram followers and popular SnapChat account EVERLANE. All while keeping up with the radical transparency it’s known for.
Even though there’s a trend among fashion companies promising to do business strictly with those that are ethically managed, Everlane is going a step further. Not only being selective with its factories but also building strong relationships and visiting them on a regular basis.
Everlane has a dedicated section of its website that gives customers a way to get to know the factories and their story. From Europe, Asia to South America, Everlane takes us on a journey across the world where we learn the who, where and how each of our favourite garments are made.
The transparency doesn’t stop there, Everlane’s SnapChat gives customers an inside look at what goes on at the head office, provides sneak peeks of new products and collections and answers all questions with its #TransparencyTuesday segment.
Our outfits tell a story. Be that as it may, Everlane believes a big part of the story lies with those who make the products not just with those who wear them. And that’s what the sustainability movement is all about.
For great style and peace of mind, check out Everlane.
